Demetrio Albertini, President of the Technical Sector, was nominated to be Italy’s ambassador at the third edition of the “European Vocational Skills Week” which started in Helsinki on Monday and will end on Friday.
Albertini spoke publicly at the event in the Finnish Capital: “I’m honoured to be able to fulfil this role and I’m convinced that training is fundamental to gaining the right skills for entering the world of work. My assignment is to get the attention of as many young people as possible and then to inform and prepare them so that they are as best equipped for their future as they can be.
The former National Team midfielder was selected to take part in the group of the ambassadors coming from various countries in the European Union who voluntarily put themselves forward to spread awareness of the benefits of vocational education and training: organised by the European Commission, the Week brings hundreds of events together under the slogan ‘Discover your Talent!’ to underline the positive effects of VET (Vocational Education and Training), such as offering high-quality work and increased employability.
