Coverciano lit up pink to promote the prevention of breast cancer
The FIGC confirmed their support to Komen Italia in the international awareness month of preventing breast tumoursTuesday, October 10, 2023
For the first time in the history of Coverciano, Italy's Federal Technical Centre was lit up pink for charity. The Azzurri HQ, which is currently hosting the Men's national side ahead of Euro 2024 qualifying games against Malta and England, was lit up pink last night to promote the importance of prevention of breast cancer. It is an initiative - set to be repeated in the following weeks – that the FIGC strongly supports to endorse Komen Italia in the international awareness month in preventing breast tumours.
The Italian FA is also promoting a 'Race for the Cure' event in Napoli on Sunday, as well as the numerous events happening across Campania during the month, with a special 'Prevention Mobile Unit’ offering out a series of free tests on the tour. The Women's national side will also meet up with the ‘Prevention Mobile Unit' in Salerno, where they are set to face Spain on matchday 3 in the Women's Nations League on Friday 27 October (17:45 CEST, Stadio Arechi). The game will coincide with a tour organised by Komen Italia that will see them visit Mercogliano (AV) and the Reggia di Caserta (21/22), Salerno (from 26 to 29) and finally Capua (28/29 ottobre), offering free diagnostic tests in every place visited, including the Stadio Arechi.
