Charity: Results Achieved for Flood-Affected Population in November Showcased at Coverciano

Last November, a terrible flood devastated the municipality of Campi Bisenzio, in the province of Florence, and many initiatives were launched to raise funds for the affected population.

Today, the auditorium at Coverciano hosted a press conference organized to highlight the different initiatives undertaken for charity purposes and the results achieved. It was a joint initiative of various associations that have collected a total of – "so far," as emphasized by the founder of the non-profit association 'Olympics of the Heart', Paolo Brosio – one hundred thousand euros.

Thanks to the charity match organized on 18 November at the 'Castellani' stadium in Empoli, the National Singers Team – currently in training at Coverciano – and the non-profit organization 'Movement Shalom' raised 40,250 euros. This amount is in addition to the 52,000 euros collected by 'Olympics of the Heart' together with the Misericordia of Campi Bisenzio and the Misericordie of Florence, thanks to the event organized at Villa Castelletti, in the province of Florence, on 20 February. The 'Davide Astori' association also donated 5,500 euros to the Municipality of Campi Bisenzio and the parish 'Sacro Cuore', also in Campi Bisenzio. To reach the 'round' figure of one hundred thousand euros to be donated to the flood-affected populations, today the president of the Misericordie of Florence, Andrea Ceccherini, announced that he will donate the missing 2,250 euros.
