Art meets football at Coverciano: art works and installations to be exhibited at the Federal Technical Centre

On Monday 12 June, the Federal Technical Centre will host the presentation of a brand-new initiative. Indeed, art is making its debut at Coverciano, the symbolic home of Italian football, thanks to an innovative project called ‘Arte e Calcio: contamiAMOci’. Developed in collaboration with Zerynthia (Association for Contemporary Art OdV), it will involve the exhibition of works and installations by several leading contemporary artists throughout the common areas (both outside and inside) of the Home of the National Teams.

A fusion of art and football, as desired by FIGC President Gabriele Gravina. It will officially kick off at 11:00 CEST with the unveiling of the first installation by a maestro of contemporary Italian art. Gravina will be present, as will Florence Mayor Dario Nardella, the Azzurri squad and Head Coach Roberto Mancini, who will be preparing his side for the Nations League finals. Opening the doors of the Federal Technical Centre to a more diverse public and not just football enthusiasts, as well as strengthening dialogue between two seemingly different worlds and delving into each other’s identities: these are the main aims of the project, which will last for two years and also seek to make Coverciano the symbol of a renewed and exciting convergence between art and football.
