A special evening for the children at Casa di Davide. Spalletti: “We’re stronger with you at our side’

The National Team is the thing that brings a smile, even to those who are playing a much more important game. On Vivo Azzurro TV, the OTT platform from the FIGC available on App Store, Google Play and at www.vivoazzurrotv.it, the new episode of ‘Storie a tutto campo’ (in Italian) is available. It recounts the evening of the game at Casa di Davide, the Associazione Davide Ciavattini’s centre for research and cure of tumours and lukemias in children, created to accompany the Ospedale Pediatrico Bambino Gesù in supporting families of children and young people affected by cancer.

At the Casa di Davide, the association organises recreational activities, clown therapy, sports and educational activities for the children, but there is also room for families, particularly those not residing in Rome and need to be close to their children far from home: all in Azzurri, they were able to watch the game against Albania with the staff from the FIGC and Bambino Gesù.

But that’s not all: the young patients had an unforgettable experience when they were able to participate in Italy vs. Albania thanks to an initiative from the UEFA Foundation that aims to promote inclusivity. A robot from Awabot allowed the young fans who are suffering from serious illnesses to experience the game up close. The robot was placed just meters from the dressing room door in the BVB Stadion: the players and Luciano Spalletto, before heading out onto the pitch, greeted the Bambino Gesù patients with love from Dortmund all the way to the Casa di Davide. “We’re stronger with you at our side”.
