The Champions of Europe return to the pitch in September
The Azzurri's first match back is a World Cup Qualifier against Bulgaria, scheduled for Thursday 2 in FlorenceMonday, July 26, 2021
In a little over a month, the National Team will be back on the pitch, after having just won the European Championship title on 11 July at Wembley.
Mancini's Azzurri will be busy qualifying for the 2022 World Cup; they currently stand top of Group C thanks to three out of three wins against Northern Ireland, Bulgaria and Lithuania in March. The group games are scheduled to continue for the Azzurri on Thursday 2 September in Florence against Bulgaria. On Sunday 5 they’ll face off against Switzerland in Basel, and on Wednesday 8 the Azzurri will return to Italy to face Lithuania in Reggio Emilia.
Though that’s not all for the Azzurri – we’ll see them play in the Nations League semi-finals, which will take place in Milan and Turin. Italy will face Spain on October 6 at the Milan’s Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, hoping to reach the final scheduled for October 10, also in Milan, against the winner of Belgium vs. France.
Then, in November, the World Cup Qualifiers continue again. On Friday 12, the Azzurri will return to the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, home of their first three EURO 2020 wins, to face Switzerland. They will then play their last game of the year against Northern Ireland in Belfast on Monday 15.
