Match against France: all 68,000 tickets sold out

Now it is official. The Stadio Giuseppe Meazza will be sold out on Sunday evening (20:45 CET) for Italy vs France, the Azzurri's last match in the Nations League group. 68,000 tickets have been issued for the match against Les Bleus. With both teams already qualified for the quarter-finals, the first place in the group is the only thing at stake. Italy will have two results out of three at their disposal and even a defeat with a one-goal difference would allow them to finish first in Group 2, presenting themselves as the top seed in the draw for the quarter-final pairings scheduled for Friday 22 November in Nyon.

AZURE LEGENDS IN THE STANDS. To watch the match against France from the stands of the Meazza, in addition to several VIPs and representatives of political and sports institutions (Inter president Giuseppe Marotta, AC Milan senior advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Monza CEO Adriano Galliani are also expected to attend), there will be many Italian legends: Paolo Maldini, Fabio Capello, Giorgio Chiellini, Roberto Donadoni, Christian Vieri, Mauro Tassotti, Pietro Vierchowod, 2006 World Champions Daniele De Rossi, Gianluca Zambrotta, Massimo Oddo, Cristian Zaccardo and Vincenzo Iaquinta. And then Riccardo Montolivo, Marco Parolo, Antonio Candreva, Alessandro Matri, Stefano Mauri, Fabio Galante and Federico Peluso.

BLIND FANS. In continuity with what has happened in the last matches played in Italy by the National team, also on the occasion of the match against France, the audio-description service for blind fans will be available. The FIGC has invited 25 blind spectators with their respective companions, who will be able to follow the Azzurri thanks to a commentary dedicated to them.

TRIBUTE TO GIGI RIVA. During the pre-match of Italy vs France, the FIGC will pay homage to Gigi Riva, the Azzurri champion who would have been 80 years old last November 7. A video with some of the most iconic goals of ‘Rombo di Tuono’ will be broadcasted on the big screen of the Meazza, while a part of the pitch will be transformed into a canvas, where the images will be mixed with 3D animations and beams of light positioned on the edge of the pitch, making the memory of the top scorer in the history of Italy memorable.

CAMPANATI AWARD. Before the match kicks off, the ‘Giulio Campanati Award’ will be presented at the Stadio Meazza in memory of the former AIA president who passed away in 2011. Promoted by the Associazione Amici di Giulio Campanati with the AIA Milan Section, the award, now in its sixth edition, is given to the best referee at the European and World Cups. On Sunday, the award will go to French referee Francois Letexier, the best match director of EURO 2024.
