Marco Parolo, Lazio and Italy midfielder, was born on 25 January 1985 in Gallerate. He started out playing youth football for Como, making a lot of noise in age group competitions before making his Serie A debut at 25 years of age with Cesena.
He joined Parma in 2012 where he really announced himself, attracting the attention of various big clubs in Italy. In the end, it was Lazio, who gambled on him, beating out their competition. He first played in a UEFA competition with the Biancocelesti in 2015, first in Champions League qualifying and then in the Europa League group stage. Until now, Marco has won one Coppa Italia and two Supercoppe Italiane in a Lazio shirt.
Parolo was a late bloomer in international football too, making his Italy debut at 26 years of age. It was Cesare Prandelli, who called him up and firmly believed in him, naming him in the squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, where he made two appearances. He continued to feature for the Azzurri under Antonio Conte in qualifying and the finals of EURO 2016. Until now, he has made 36 appearances in an Italy shirt.
