Italy are now unbeaten in 25 matches under Roberto Mancini (20W, 5D), equalling the second greatest run of this kind in the history of the Azzurri national team, registered by Marcello Lippi between 2004 and 2006 – only Vittorio Pozzo has a greater record (30 matches, between 1935 and 1939).
Italy won their first three World Cup qualifying games for the fourth time in their history, after having done so in the qualifying campaigns for the 1978, 1982 and 1998 World Cups.
Italy have not conceded more than one goal in any of their last 28 matches: This equals their longest streak, in 1991 with Azeglio Vicini in the dugout.
Italy have won eight of their last ten games in all competitions (2D), scoring 22 goals and conceding only one in that time period.
Ciro Immobile has now scored eight goals in World Cup qualifying matches, equalling Daniele De Rossi in third place of all-time Azzurri Goalscorers in World Cup qualifiers - the top two are Luigi Riva (14) and Roberto Bettega (11).
Stefano Sensi scored one minute and fifty-two seconds after coming onto the pitch - two of Italy’s last three goals have come "off the bench", as many as the previous 21 goals.
Sensi's goal was scored from distance, after Italy's previous ten goals had all come from inside the box, including four from the penalty spot.
Manuel Locatelli has been involved in three (one goal, two assists) of Italy's last seven goals in all competitions.
