15 November 2024
Tuesday, May 3, 2022
After almost six years, a heavyweight clash is making a return. On Saturday 4 June, the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in Bologna will host the match between Italy and Germany (kick-off 20:45 CEST), a match-up that is ingrained in football history. It will the Azzurri's first match in the latest edition of the UEFA Nations League.
Starting at 12:00 CEST on Friday 6 May, the first sales window will open for holders of a Vivo Azzurro Membership Card. Tickets can be purchased via Vivaticket sales points and on the websites figc.vivaticket.it e vivaticket.com. They will go on general sale from 12:00 CEST on Monday 9 May.
The FIGC continues its well-received price offers (from €10 for the Curve to €80 for the Poltrona), with many discounts for families, women, young people and Over-65s.
The last time Italy hosted Germany was on 15 November 2016, when the two sides played out a 0-0 draw in a friendly in Milan. Looking back in the archives to previous encounters, 'The Game of the Century' is still the standout meeting, with the Azzurri running out 4-3 winners after extra time in the 1970 World Cup semi-finals. After that, there was the 1982 World Cup final, which Italy won to add a third star to their shirts, and the 2006 World Cup semi-final showdown, from which the Azzurri emerged victorious in Dortmund. Under the leadership of Lippi, Italy then, of course, went on to become World Champions for the fourth time.
