For the first time in Italian National Team history, the Azzurri have won eight matches in a row without shipping a single goal.
Italy haven’t conceded in five consecutive friendlies for the first time since June 1991 (eight in that case).
Roberto Mancini has won 23 games in charge of the Azzurri: he’s equalled Cesare Prandelli in this regard but has done so in 23 fewer games (56 vs. 33).
Ciro Immobile bagged his 13th goal for the Italy, this being the sixth under Roberto Mancini’s management. Only Andrea Belotti has scored more goals (eight) since the current Head Coach has been at the helm.
With 13 goals to his name, Immobile has become the second-most prolific Lazio player of all time when it comes to goals in the Azzurri shirt, with Silvio Piola (28) leading the way in this particular ranking.
The former Pescara player has now joined Pierluigi Casiraghi, Mario Magnozzi, Raimundo Orsi and Andrea Pirlo in scoring 13 goals for the Azzurri.
Before the friendly against the Czech Republic, Immobile had only once both scored and assisted in the same match for Italy – in November 2019 (vs. Armenia).
Lorenzo Insigne scored his eighth goal for the National Team: the Napoli striker had previously not found the net for the Azzurri since November 2019 against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The 30-year-old from Frattamaggiore (Naples) has provided an assist in each of his last five Italy games. In 36 matches prior to this, he had set up a teammate to score on four occasions.
All five of Nicolò Barella's goals for the Italian National Team have come in the first half of matches, with three of them being scored from outside the box.
Jorginho has been involved in at least one goal in both of the games he’s played with Italy in Bologna: he scored against Poland in the Nations League in 2018 and provided an assist for Barella in the game against the Czech Republic.
Domenico Berardi has scored five goals in his last six games in the Azzurri shirt.
