Ciro Immobile was born in Torre Annunziata on 20 February 1990. He began his professional footballing career at Juventus and he made his Serie A debut for the Bianconeri on 14 March 2009 and his Champions League debut on 25 November against Bordeaux. He went on to represent Siena and Grosseto but it was during his time with Pescara where he really came on in leaps and bounds. Together with Insigne and Verratti, he helped lift the team out of Serie B and into Serie A, finishing the season as the league’s top-scorer (28 goals).
He then spent time with Genoa and Juventus again before signing for Torino. It was here that he cemented himself as one of the top strikers in the top flight, as he finished the 2013/14 season as top-scorer with 22 goals. He spent the following seasons at Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla before returning to Torino in the winter transfer window where he picked up from where he had left off as he continued to be in fine scoring form for the Granata. Ciro joined Lazio in the summer of 2016, with whom he has won two Italian Supercoppe and a Coppa Italia.
He made his debut with the National Team in 2014 during a friendly in Madrid against Spain on 5 March.
National Team Coach Cesare Prandelli included him in his 23-man squad for the World Cup in Brazil, where Immobile played in the opening match: a 2-1 victory against England. He scored his first goal for the Azzurri on 4 September in a friendly in Bari against the Netherlands: Italy won 2-0. He also participated in the Azzurri’s campaign during Euro 2016. So far he has made 39 appearances for the National Team, scoring 10 goals.
