The best Italians from matchday three of the Serie A season according to the media
The top 5 after some spectacular displays from Italian players in Serie ATuesday, September 17, 2019
Here’s the round-up of the Italian players with the highest ratings in the country’s bestselling newspapers (La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport).
Lorenzo PELLEGRINI (G 7,5; C 8; T 7,5) Roma 4-2 Sassuolo
A monstrous performancein attacking midfield. With three assists, he bossed play between the lines. Like with Italy, Fonseca has started to use Pellegrini in a more attacking role where his running and vision make a real difference. Furthermore, he even hit the post.
Luca CEPPITELLI (G 7; C 8; T 8) Parma 1-3 Cagliari
After remaining on the bench against Inter, he returned to the starting line-up and showed what he could do although it was an unorthodox display for a defender as he hit a brace. His first was a great run into the box before a towering header for his second.
Riccardo ORSOLINI (G 7,5; C 7,5; T 7,5) Brescia 3-4 Bologna
Once again he demonstrated his status as Bologna’s main skilful player. After a slow start like the rest of the team, he played a key role in the comeback as he first assisted Palacio’s goal before hitting home with his left to secure a dramatic win for the Emilian side.
Stefano SENSI (G 7,5; C 7,5; T 7,5) Inter 1-0 Udinese
Conte has given him the keys to the Nerazzurri’s engine room and he’s making good use of them. He scored another goal in an all-action performance. He’s always at, never letting the play slip him by and he attacks space. A truly valuable player.
Alfredo DONNARUMMA (G 7,5; C 7,5; T 7,5) Brescia 3-4 Bologna
He plays like the Stadio Rigamonti is his back garden, scoring in practically every home game and going up a division hasn’t stopped that. It was a shame that his brace proved to be in vain for the Rondinelle but Corini can build around such a reliable option in attack.
