What a year 2019 has been for Sandro Tonali who has now added scoring in the top flight to his list of accomplishments. Unfortunately for him, the goal didn't affect the result as Genoa beat Brescia. He admitted that he enjoyed some good fortune as it was meant to be a cross but he’s continuing to develop strongly as he works on fulfilling his great potential.
The 19-year-old from Lodi and jewell in the crown of the Brescia youth system has played a key role in a memorable year as the Rondinelle returned to Serie A with the midfielder making his debut in the top flight on 25 August. On Saturday, he found the net for the first time in Serie A with a a great hit from out wide although he didn’t want to take too much credit seeing as good fortune played its part.
In the meantime, his career saw further landmarks such as his Italy Under-21 debut on 21 March in Italy vs. Austria and his unforgettable senior Italy debut in Vaduz against Liechtenstein on 15 October in Euro 2020 qualification.
UEFA have named him among the most-promising 50 young players across Europe as he keeps drawing media interest across the continent. Keep it up, Sandro!
