These were the players who earned the highest ratings in the main Italian sports newspapers (La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport).
Ciro IMMOBILE (G 7; C 9; T 7) Lazio 3-3 Atalanta
He continued as he had left off with yet another brace, one which allowed Lazio to come from behind and come away with a point. Not only that, he also provided the assist for Correa’s goal. Irreplaceable.
Alex MERET (G 7; C 7,5; T 7,5) Napoli 2-0 Hellas Verona
His triple save in the 18th minute showed what he’s all about and his first-half contribution was huge as the guests threatened on a number of occasions. He then produced another fantastic stopped in added time to preserve his clean sheet. There are no doubts about it: he’s very much blossoming.
Gianluigi BUFFON (G 7; C 6,5; T 8) Juventus 2-1 Bologna
His stoppage-time save to deny Santander when it looked certain the Bologna striker would score was perhaps worth more than a goal and allowed the league leaders to secure another three points. An indisputable leader in magnificent form. It might say 41 years old on his identity card but his talent really does defy the passing of time.
