He has physical and technical attributes in spades, is the full package and is just looking to add some consistency before making the next step up with is a mental question more than anything else considering that he’s still just 20. Gianluca Scammaca turned the match around for his Ascoli side against Cosenza, coming on to score a brace to launch wild celebrations from the fans as the three points sent the home side into the playoff spots.
On loan from the Sassuolo, the forward born in 1999 has significant skill and height and he’s been enjoying a very positive campaign as he continues to develop, scoring eight goals so far. After playing twice with the Italy Under-21 team under Coach Paolo Nicolato, he was kept on the bench by Ascoli boss Paolo Zanetti in case he needed him and it turned out that he did.
With the Bianconeri down at the Del Duca, his entry proved to be a vital turning point. Two goals in just over 30 minutes tried the game on its head as Ascoli won 3-2. He got on the end of three good chances, finishing two of them as his excellent run of form goes on.
