Pierluigi Gollini was the best Italian player on matchday twelve in Serie A according to the top three sports newspapers in Italy.
The Atalanta goalkeeper was decisive in the game against Juventus, which saw Gasperini’s side come back from Turin with a precious point in the bag. His performance saw hick pick up an average rating of 8.17: Tuttosport gave him an 8.5, with La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport-Stadio both gave him an 8.
Gollini’s rating will sure be bolstered by the penalty save against Cristiano Ronaldo, his first penalty save (from 16 faced) in Serie A. But there was much more to his game. Just after the break, he stood strong to deny Morata and, just after having denied CR7 from the spot, again parried Morata’s effort with an extraordinary feat of goalkeeping. It was certainly a night to remember for Gollini.º
