Mattia Destro was the best Italian player on matchday 20 in Serie A according to the ratings given by the three principal sports publications in the country.
He bagged a brace to lead Genoa to victory over Crotone and obtained an average rating of 7.83 thanks to the 8 given by both La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport and the 7.5 from Corrie dello Sport-Stadio.
He opened the scoring in the 24th minute after latching onto a loose ball in the penalty area and scored the definitive goal to make it 3-0 in the 50th minute. The Genoa striker has now scored nine goals in 16 games this season, though eight of these have come in his last nine appearances. Destro has contributed 41% of Genoa’s total tally of 22 goals so far this season.
