Lorenzo Insigne is the best Italian player of the 26th Serie A matchday, according to the votes cast by the country's three main sports papers.

He brought Napoli to victory with a brace against Bologna and got an average score of 7.67 thanks to an ‘8’ in the Corriere dello Sport-Stadio and ratings of ‘7.5’ from La Gazzetta dello Sport and Tuttosport.

He opened the scoring in the eight minute with a right-footed shot on the turn from the edge of the area, assisted by a back-heel from Zielinski. He went for another in the 20^th minute, yet again on the turn, but Skorupski denied him. With around 20 minutes to go until the final whistle he displayed his unselfishness when, on a one-on-one with the keeper, he gifted it to Osimhen to make it two, who however wasted the opportunity. He finished the match off in a flash of individual brilliance in the 76^th minute: first, he won the ball back in the final third and then he let fly with a precise, low shot that found its way into the back of the net. An all-round great performance from the Neapolitan, cementing himself as Napoli’s skipper and top goal scorer, with 13 goals so far.
