Domenico Berardi and Marco Davide Faraoni were the best Italian performers on matchday 25 in Serie A according to the top three sports newspapers in Italy.
The Neroverdi man stood out in Sassuolo’s thilling 3-3 draw against Napoli in Reggio Emilia, while Faraoni played a key role in Verona’s successful trop to Benevento. Both received an average rating of 7.17 after being given a 7 from La Gazzetta dello Sport, a 7.5 from the Corriere dello Sport-Stadio and a 7 from Tuttosport.
Berardi continually got involved in Sassuolo’s attacking moves and made it 2-1 to the hosts from the penalty spot in first-half stoppage time. Then, in the 68th minute, he came inches away from bagging a brace as he hit the bar with a great left-footed strike from the edge of the area. He’s now scored nine Serie A goals this season and is continuing to enjoy an excellent campaign.
At the Vigorito, meanwhile, Faraoni was a constant thorn in the side of the Benevento defence and opened the scoring in the 25th minute with a header after entering the box from the right flank. He played with purpose throughout and also contributed to Verona’s third goal after launching the ball forward for Lasagna.
